To commemorate the unique location of our 2024 Spring Concours our "artist in residence" Ian Cunningham has created this print of the King's well-know DB6 Mark II Volante, in front of Sandringham House.
30x42cm
About the house:
The site has been occupied since Elizabethan times but first became associated with the Royal family in 1862 when it was bought for the future King Edward VII. Since then it has been passed on from one ruling monarch to the next. Queen Elizabeth II first opened the estate to the general public in 1977. The house is currently the private property of King Charles III, who inherited it on his mother's death. It has always been a much-loved retreat for the Royal family.
About the car:
This rare car, in Seychelles Blue with a Royal Blue interior, found itself in global spotlight when it was driven by Prince William on the occasion of his wedding day.
It is said the car runs on "wine and cheese", a shorthand way of saying the engine is fuelled by a mix of gasoline and bio-ethanol, derived from the waste products of the wine- and cheese manufacturing process.
